Giving back to the birthplace of Sound System culture. Hurricane Melissa has left widespread devastation across Jamaica. Join our relief effort by adding a $5+ donation to your ticket. (Add multiple to donate larger amounts.)
Kia ora and warm greetings,
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa and the devastation it has brought to communities across Jamaica, sound systems throughout Aotearoa are coming together for a nationwide fundraiser to support recovery efforts. Through this collective movement, we aim to raise funds that will directly contribute to the healing of the nation. By uniting our networks, talent, and shared love of music, we believe we can make a meaningful and positive impact.
Sound system culture was born in Jamaica, a powerful force that has shaped music, community, and creativity across the world, including here in Aotearoa. Now, it is our turn to give back to the culture and people who inspired and uplifted us for over half a century.
Stay tuned for updates on participating sound systems, upcoming events during the summer season and ways you can contribute. Together, we stand with Jamaica and support the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Melissa.
